Nike Flight Lite...

The Nike Air Flight Lite High has been put back on the map thanks to the buzz created by the “White Men Can’t Jump” edition that dropped recently. This new grey/red colorway may be a bit more understated than the neon WMCJ version, but it has some style of its own and lends itself to a little more fashion versatility. In fact, for a style that originally dropped in the early 90’s, this design seems to fall right in line with today’s current trend of super high-cut sneakers. The cool grey upper on this pair gives the shoe a clean look that would still look good on the court, but will most likely be a better fit for the street. You can pick up a pair now at mita.

Air Jordan XII University Blue Blk

The Air Jordan XII “Nubuck” was one of the first and best Air Jordan retro sneakers ever released via the Air Jordan Flight Club and now it looks like Jordan Brand will be bringing back the heavily sought after Air Jordan XII Retro+ that came in a soft Black nubuck with hints of Carolina Blue or University Blue. These AJ XII Retro’s look identical to the original versions that were released as a part of a pack nearly six years ago, which included a hat and sweatshirt. If you’re looking to pick these up now you can do so via marqueesole.

Nike Air Force 1 / Free Hybrid

This past year we’ve seen a number of hybrid models come out of the Nike Sportswear category, the Air Max 90 Current Huarache, Cortez Fly Motion, and we’ve even seen an upcoming Air Max (Maxim) 1 that looks to use some Flywire inspiration on the upper. Little has been done to the Air Force 1 when it underwent some changes a few years ago aside from adding a visible Air unit in the heel. However now pictures have surfaced of a wear test sample Nike Air Force 1 that looks to remove the full length Air unit in the sole of the shoe with Zoom Air in the heel and what looks to be something along the lines of Nike Free in the forefoot. Before those of you Air Force 1 fanatics start a petition, understand that these are wear test samples (notice the numbers written on the shoes) and might not necessarily make it to the market.

Aye!!!

March 14, call your dealer...

Jordan CP3 - White

By now you’ve probably seen a couple of colorways of the Jordan CP3.II, but now a new version emerges as possibly the nicest yet. New Orleans Hornets point guard phenom Chris Paul’s second signature model from Jordan Brand looks like a Jordan athlete’s shoe should. The CP3.II is loaded with stylish touches like patent leather, laser graphics, perforated sections and a variety of materials and textures. This thoughtful attention to detail makes this white/black/teal version one of the freshest Jordan signature models yet and will surely be a hit when it arrives in stores in the near future. Stay tuned for more details on the official release. via kenlu.

Air Jordan VII - 60 Pack

Rumors have been swirling around the next couple of Air Jordan Collezione packs and here we have a look at one of the shoes from the Fall 2009 60+ Collezione Pack, the Air Jordan VII, which is inspired by the original Orlando Magic uniforms. For those of you who followed MJ’s career then you should know the the Orlando Magic was one of the five teams that Jordan scored 60 or more points against. This is one of the first samples of the shoe so don’t be surprised if there are changes made to the final version, which will be released as a part of a two shoe pack in the third quarter of this year. via CARTER // Kenlu

Funny....

Yeezy's...

There are some minor differences on the uppers to differentiate the three sneakers beyond just the colorways. The textured “Y” pattern is used on different sections of all three, and the beige pair uses patent leather on the strap instead. Despite the subtle differences, all three look like nothing else on the market and will no doubt create a frenzy when they begin to drop this spring. If one or all three are calling your name, be prepared to drop a grip, as the retail price is expected to be hefty. Stay tuned for the official release details as soon as they are confirmed.

Dub Zero - Blk Red

The Jordan Dub Zero set the Jordan hybrid program into motion when it was released and now a few new colorways have been popping up lately to find themselves right at home in this current age of Fusion madness. If you thought the recently previewed black/laser blue and black/maize versions were looking good, get a load of these black and red beauties. Aside from the obvious color differences, what separates this shoe from the other new Dub Zero models is the black on black laser graphics and there’s something about that Chicago Bulls color scheme on a Jordan shoe that just always looks so right. You can pick up a pair now at MarqueeSole with more colorways on the way this summer. via nicekicks.

Jordan Phat 1 Low - Seattle

In 1996, Michael Jordan and the nearly unstoppable 72-10 Chicago Bulls took down Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp and the now defunct Seattle Supersonics in six games to capture their fourth NBA Championship. A few weeks ago, we showed you a preview of the upcoming Supersonics editions from the ongoing Air Jordan I Low Phat Championship Packs, and now we get some better looks at both the home and away colorways. The midsoles that looked so dark in the original pics are more visibly green in these images, giving the shoes much more of a Sonics feel. As stated in the original post, these will be available on March 14th at select Jordan retailers.

Nike Foamposite Lite Nate Robinson Release Date

It is unknown if Nike was planning a release from the start or if the overwhelmingly positive response simply made it a no-brainer. Was it marketing genius or just good old popular demand? Most likely, it was a little bit of both, but whatever the impetus, the simple fact is that this shoe will be arriving in limited quantities at House of Hoops Harlem on the greenest of all days, March 17th. Repeat: The Kryptonates will be hitting House of Hoops Harlem on St. Patty’s Day. You asked for ‘em. You got ‘em. Now don’t miss your chance to actually get ‘em.

Nike Cortez FLYMOTION... Coming Soon

Along with its elder Cortez brothers in leather and suede, the Cortez Fly Motion will debut Spring/Summer 2009. This new version is a cutting-edge version of the iconic Cortez that puts a premium on reduced weight in the upper. Built on the same retooled platform as the Cortez, the Cortez Fly Motion fuses Flywire technology developed for Nike’s highest performance track shoe, the Zoom Victory Spike, into the design. The overall look of the Nike Cortez retains the integrity of the original Cortez featuring an oversized swoosh and an upper of nylon and suede. It’s instantly recognizable as the Cortez, but remixed with Natural Motion technology to improve function and form of the shoe. To attain a more comfortable ride the Cortez dual-density EVA midsole was replaced with injected Phylon, making the Cortez lighter without compromising on stability. A series of deep flex grooves were laser cut following the herringbone tread pattern, enabling the Cortez to offer unrivaled flexibility while becoming lighter than ever.

Max B - Thug Ethicist Part 2

For the Summer...

In what may be their simplest skate shoe yet, Nike has taken it back to basics with the Drifter 6.0. Quite possibly inspired by some classic Vans models, the Drifter takes that old school look, but modernizes it with a few choice touches. The most noticeable of which is the stitching on the upper and the scribble graphics on the tongue and heel. The shoe also utilizes a suede upper and striped vulcanized midsole and comes with some very cool patterned laces. The Drifter will be available in three colorways for starters. Black/glass blue/red, pine/white and orion blue/purple versions will be available sometime in Fall ‘09

FakeShoreDrive on Chicago Reader

Props to AB...

This citywide unity—as well as Barber’s newfound pull in the scene—is evident in Fake Shore Drive’s first mix tape, due for release as a free download sometime in early February. Assembled with the help of DJ Timbuck2 from WGCI (107.5 FM), The Chicagorilla Ape Tape Vol. 1includes tracks from Kanye wingmen like GLC and Really Doe, radio-friendly street dudes like Twista and Gemstones, conscious-leaning MCs like Lupe and Pugs Atomz, and party starters like Hollywood Holt. Everything on it is previously unreleased, given to Fake Shore Drive as an exclusive, and so far only a few cuts have escaped onto the Internet—leaked by the artists, Barber figures. It’s named after the Fake Shore Drive mascot—Barber thinks his is probably the only hip-hop blog to have one—which is basically a dude in a huge, disturbing gorilla suit.

The mix tape’s quality and the “volume one” in its title both suggest Barber has a future as a rap anthologist, but for now keeping the blog fed and watered is still his top priority. “Somebody has to run the circus,” he says.

Hook:

If my diamonds aren't blue,
My money's light green
My porsche is light grey
I'm headed for D.C.
Anybody feel me?

Verse:
My President is Black
Infact he's half white
So even in a racists mind
He's half right
If you got a racist mind
It's alright
My President is Black
But his house is all white
Rosa Parks sat
So Martin Luther could walk
Martin Luther walked
So Barack Obama could run
Barack Obama ran
So all the children could fly
So I'mma spread my wings
You can meet me in the sky
I already got my own clothes
Already got my own shoes
I was hot before Barack
Imagine what I'm gon' do
Hello, Miss America
Hey pretty lady
Red, White, & Blue flag
Wave for me baby
Never thought I'd say this shit
Baby I'm good
You can keep your Puss
I don't want no more Bush
No more war
No more rap
You can keep your white lies

JEEZY - MY PRESIDENTS BLACK (VIDEO)

Interview : Sneakerfiend Tee's x Sneakerfiles

In 2002, Darrick Carruth started a sneaker inspired line labeled Sneaker Fiend. The line itself has made appearances at the Magic Show in Vegas as well as boutiques across the globe. Carruth has been featured in a myriad of magainzes on behalf of his SF line, too. Each t-shirt is toned up in color schemes that correlate to lifestyle releases from brands across the shoe realm. Carruth explains, “Sneaker Fiend is dope product. Made by dope people, for dope people. It’s about ecstatics for sneakerheads. It’s about the culture. It’s about hip-hop. It’s about fashion. It’s about being fresh at all times and about fresh people.”

AIR JORDAN 2009 COMMERICAL

Interview: Sneakerfiles x Dave Jeff (PHLI)

So the homeboy Oscar from Sneakerfiles sat down with (the much respected affiliate of XchangeChicago) the founder of PHLI and the voice of Chicago Dave Jeff...ENJOY!

Props to the homie Oscar

During the past years, Chicago has made an enormous growth in the sneaker culture. Stores like St.Alfred, Self-Conscious and LDRS 1354 have paved the way for other up and coming boutiques from which they stem ideas from. However, behind the sneaker boutiques, one man has made a name for himself being the first of few to start the boutique and sneaker scene in Chicago. Meet Dave Jeff, A sneaker and fashion connoisseur that turned the PHLI brand into many different markets other than just the sneakers.

Sneaker Files: People have thrown your name around within the sneaker scene in the Chi and You have made a name for yourself but Who really is Dave Jeff?

Dave Jeff: Dave Jeff is a Hyde Park kid. Born and raised over there. Sneaker head, I’m a boss, CEO, I’m a designer in fashion, I’m a trend setter, and I’m everything Chicago.

PHLI Nike Air Force 25

Sneaker Files: What is PHLI?

Dave Jeff: PHLI is a lifestyle brand. We deal with everything our lifestyle consist of. The sneaker world, The fashion world, deal in marketing, design, artist management. Everything lifestyle with your computer, cars, music, we have our hand in everything.

Sneaker Files: What about the store?

Dave Jeff: The PHLI store was the first sneaker boutique in Chicago. The first private label to do what we do as far the T’s , the whole fashion thing and the sneakers. This was like 5-6 years ago. That’s where that whole thing started.

Sneaker Files: Since you started the sneaker boutiques, what would You say about the other Chicago boutiques?

Dave Jeff: If you look at the people who first began it with the three main joints, PHLI, Leaders, and Self Conscious, it was me, Vell, my man Sam and a few others spreading around amongst the Footlockers and corporate America. We, the Diegos and all of that came from Tony Sports.

When we left Tony Sports, me, Diego and a couple of other cats were at a store called Half-Time. A buddy of mine from the east coast came down and just set the world on fire. He was a real fly dude, east coast dude, and was really up on expanding that whole pipeline. Like five or six years ago, I remember him coming back from Asia, sitting Atmos down and buying up all their stuff, with the atmosphere and linens, the Wheats (and this was when they were first released).

This was back then, but then the store closed. He got into some things and he basically left the store to me. Afterward I did what I could do. I sold the lease, liquidated some stuff and that was basically the start of Capitol, to get to the store I was at now, which PHLI in Hyde Park.

Sneaker Files: How do You see your self in today’s sneaker scene? Whats Your position?

Dave Jeff: I’m the voice of Chicago. I been on three tours now, I been around the country twice this year, dealing with sneaker fans, DunkxChange and being a voice for the sneaker world, but everybody knows I’m from the Chi and everybody knows what PHLI. I definitely represented, been an ambassador from Chicago across the country.

Sneaker Files: Whats going to happen with the PHLI store?

Dave Jeff: As you know, the stores moving so there will be another store. The University of Chicago bought the property in where the store is currently now, it’s where its been for five years, so the store will stay in Hyde Park but it’ll just be bigger and better.
