The Wire's 'Snoop' Arrested Over Murder Trial

Police arrested popular actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson on minor drug charges on Wednesday (August 20), after she was detained for refusing to cooperate as a witness in a murder trial.

Members of Baltimore's Homicide Unit entered Snoop's Northeast Baltimore home with a "body attachment" warrant, which allowed authorities to arrest and detain her.

Once inside, they also found two cigars filled with what is allegedly marijuana as well as marijuana residue.

Police may detain Snoop until September 16, when the murder trial of her associate Steven James Lashley begins.

Lashley is accused of stabbing three men - one fatally - outside a Baltimore New York Fried Chicken, in Snoop's defense.

Snoop had been involved in an argument inside the restaurant with Tyrell Roseborough.

Snoop had apparently offended Roseborough, who became verbally abusive when Snoop refused his advances. Police entered the establishment and ended the fracas.

The incident flared up again outside because of the proximity of their vehicles, which were all parked near Water and Commerce streets, police said.

Lashley eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed the three men, fatally wounding one of the three.

Snoop already told investigators that she wasn't involved in the stabbing.

“He [Roseborough] ain’t try to flirt with me or no [s**t] like that,” Pearson told investigators. “It was so tight in there...I’m like what [s**t] man get out of my face.”

According to The Baltimore Sun, a warrant was issued for Snoop on July 1, after she missed an April 21 trial date.

She also recently avoided prosecutors' phone calls in regards to the trial.

Snoop was sentenced to eight years in prison in 1996 at the age of 14, for shooting and killing Okia "Kia" Toomer during a dispute between the two females.

Her life is chronicled in her recently released memoirs, titled Grace After Midnight.

BREAKING NEWS: Da Brat Gets Three Years In Prison

Chart topping rapper Da Brat was sentenced to three years in prison today (August 22), after being charged with assault for hitting a woman in the face with a bottle of rum.

The prison sentence stems from a November 2007 incident, in which Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris, argued with Shala Stevens, a waitress working at Jermaine Dupri’s Club 72.

Stevens, a budding model, Atlanta Falcons cheerleader and actress, suffered deep lacerations to her cheek and swelling to her forehead.

Stevens, who is represented by power attorney Willie Gary and CK Hoffler in a civil lawsuit, also suffered permanent disfigurement and mental distress as a result of the attack.

"Ms. Stevens is a cheerleader, choreographer, dancer, actress and entrepreneur, whose career has been greatly affected by this incident," Gary told AllHipHop.com in a previous statement.

Stevens was also forced to pull out of an upcoming role on Tyler Perry’s sitcom House of Pain due to the injuries she sustained in the assault.

Da Brat must also serve seven years of probation and complete 200 hours of community service.

In 2000, Da Brat was charged with pistol whipping another patron at the Chili Pepper nightclub in Atlanta.

She pleaded guilty, was fined and sentenced to a year of probation.

Da Brat has worked with artists like Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Ludacris, Dem Franchize Boyz, Kelly Rowland and others
