Nike Air Force 1 / Free Hybrid

This past year we’ve seen a number of hybrid models come out of the Nike Sportswear category, the Air Max 90 Current Huarache, Cortez Fly Motion, and we’ve even seen an upcoming Air Max (Maxim) 1 that looks to use some Flywire inspiration on the upper. Little has been done to the Air Force 1 when it underwent some changes a few years ago aside from adding a visible Air unit in the heel. However now pictures have surfaced of a wear test sample Nike Air Force 1 that looks to remove the full length Air unit in the sole of the shoe with Zoom Air in the heel and what looks to be something along the lines of Nike Free in the forefoot. Before those of you Air Force 1 fanatics start a petition, understand that these are wear test samples (notice the numbers written on the shoes) and might not necessarily make it to the market.

DJ Clark Kent All Star AF1

For most of the past NBA All Star Games, Nike has commemorated the occasion with a special edition Air Force 1 that’s usually sold in the hosting city. This year, instead of Nike’s designer coloring up the design, DJ Clark Kent has stepped into the ASG Air Force 1 designer role. The colors are of course inspired by they host city’s own, the Phoenix Suns. On the upper, DJCK chose a lux tan nubuck for the front half with micro-perforations on on the toebox and side panels. The rest of the upper features a yellow perforated leather on the swoosh, tongue label and heel tab while the heel is a patent purple. The inner lining and to the midsole features orange while the outsole is a nice clean gum. The year “09″ is stitched on to the outer front side and the lace locks call out “East” on the right shoe and “West” on the left shoe. To finish out this nice package, DJ Clark Kent invited lace masters Starks to design a fitting set of laces for the 2009 All Star Game Air Force 1.

Quilted AF1

Nike has really been pushing out some nice smooth colorways for the ladies this past year from J's,Blazers,Vandals,Dunks, and AF1's. Check this one out with the quilted side panels, the nice grey color, and just to kick in a lil flavor the cayman color. Nice pick up for the guy that likes to switch between women's and mens AF1's or something nice for your girl just to drop on her to keep her shoe game tight. Look for these in stores soon. Officially, the above Air Force 1 Low Premium is scheduled to release here in the US on November 1st, 2008, in other parts of the world, they are already available in stores. This new colorway continues Nike’s simplicity approach for the Air Force 1. While a special plaid fabric is minimally used and well placed in just the side panels and the heel. The rest of the upper feature a premium boulder (brown) leather on the front half, swoosh and eye stays. For those of you in Asia and Europe you can find these in stores now or very soon but for those of you in the US you’ll have to wait til November.
